Mangalore: Student council inaugurated at Srinivas Institute of Technology

Mangalore, Sep 23: The inaugural function of the Student Council Association and Engineers Day celebrations for the year 2014-15 was held on Monday September 22.

Dr Vijayan N K, Principal, Expert Pre-University College, Mangalore present as the chief guest in his inaugural address mentioned how to be a succesful individual in life. He also urged the students to develop a positive attitude with three important factors: control, challenge and commitment which plays a vital role in their future.

Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT gave the presidential address. In his speech he motivated students by remembering the contributions of Sir M Visvesvaraya to our society.

Professor Gopalkrishna Bhat, Head of the Department, Chemistry, faculty coordinator spoke on the occasion by introducing office bearers of student council association.

The programme was welcomed by Varun Kotian, president, Student Council Association while Mahendranath Kamath, vice-president delivered the vote of thanks. The formal function was followed by cultural programmes by the students.
