Karkala, Sep 24: Former all-rounder, renowned cricket commentator and director of the Indian Cricket team, Ravi Shastri visited Karvalu village near Karkala on Tuesday September 23.
He offered flowers during puja as well as a special Nagabana puja at Lord Mahavishnumurty Temple in Karvalu during his visit.
Shastri’s ancestors belonged to Karvalu and the local deities are the ones in whom they reposed their faith and worshipped as family deities.
Shastri has been visiting the place with his family consecutively for the past seven years. He strongly believed that only after he offered prayers there, he was blessed with a daughter. He was also honoured by the temple authorities.
