New Delhi, Oct 9: Australia would have a point to prove against England when they clash in the ICC Champions Trophy ahead of their bid to regain the Ashes, skipper Ricky Ponting said on Sunday.
However, the world champions were fully focused on claiming the one major title they have never won, he told reporters after arriving in India.
"It is the second biggest tournament and it is the one that has eluded us," he said. "We've been in the semi-final in the last two tournaments. We have come here pretty well prepared this time."
"We've a good record in India in one-day cricket over the years. Hopefully that will come true in our performances early on."
Australia face against England in pool A in Jaipur on Octover 21 in a prelude to the Ashes series starting in Brisbane on November 23.
