Mangalore, Oct 13: Employees at Infosys Mangalore Development Centre organized Pratibha Poshak, a scholarship programme for students on Sunday October 12.

The programme was organised to provide scholarships of Rs 19,71,376 for 456 students who are pursuing professional courses, from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kasaragod and Uttara Kannada districts. Prerana, the welfare trust of Infosys Ltd., Mangalore sponsored Rs 13,72,500. The remaining funds were contributed by Dhrithi Foundation and Supraja Foundation.

                                                                 

The event was organized in Mangalore Campus of Infosys Ltd. and was graced by Dr Ravish Tunga, professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry, AJ Institute of Medical College. Naren Koduvattat, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Liga EduTech Pvt. Ltd., was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present at the event were Tallur Shivaram Shetty, president Yakshagana Kalaranga and Raviraj Belma, trustee Prerana, Infosys Ltd. Mangalore.

Following the scholarship distribution process, the beneficiary students had an interactive session on Public Speaking which was well appreciated by all the students.

The CSR wing of Infosys Mangalore funded by employees, mainly focuses on creating a positive impact on the society by nurturing a culture of community welfare and development amongst Infoscions. This is the 8th year that Prerana has joined Dhrithi Foundation, Yakshagana Kalaranga, Bevinje Sridhara Kakkillaya Pratishtana and Supraja Foundation are extending support to the needy and meritorious students of Dakshina Kannada district.
