Mangalore: Thief enters house in city, steals cash, other items

Mangalore, Oct 15: A thief who gained entry into a rented residence at Attavar in the city early morning on Tuesday October 14, decamped with cash and other things. The house in question is occupied by two persons, Vijay S Hoogar and Hariprasad on rent.

It is said that a person dressed in blue jeans, black T-­shirt and a red shawl around his head, forcibly opened the rear door to this house at around 3 am. He took away a cell phone, a carry bag containing documents pertaining to a two ­wheeler, Rs 8,000 in cash found in the pocket of a shirt and a wrist watch. The two residents together lost Rs 30,650 in this incident.

Both the occupants of the house woke up to the sounds made by the thief. However, by the time they realized what was happening, the thief fled from the scene, it is reported.
