Dharwad, Oct 15: Out of three children who were abducted from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital at Hubli last month, a child was seen at the railway station here on Monday October 13 night under mysterious circumstances. With this, second out of the three children stolen from this hospital, in which role of some hospital staff is suspected, stands found.

Four employees of this hospital had been arrested last week on the allegation of trying to sell a six-day old infant. City police commissioner, Ravindra Prasad, said that the policemen suspect involvement of hospital staff in the trafficking of children and has been investigating the case from this angle too.

A child which had been kidnapped from KIMS Hospital last year and found to have been sold to a couple from Rajastan, made a surprise reappearance in KIMS compound last month.

Out of two children of Huligeppa Voddar and Sudha couple living in Voddara Oni in Hospet, Bellary district, identified as Roja and Roopa, who had been brought to this hospital for treatment on September 19 last year, younger daughter, Roja had been kidnapped.

A woman, who aged around 25, had offered to look after the kids when Sudha was busy buying medicines. Sudha later found that her younger daughter, Roja, had been taken away by the woman. Roja was found to have been abandoned by unknown persons near the old ticket counter
at the railway station here. With this, the parents of the girl are relieved, but the people who were behind these kidnaps have remained elusive.

Several other cases of disappearance of children remain unresolved in the state. A two day old infant, who was stolen from KLE Hospital, Belgaum, three months back, has not been found. A newborn child, which was abducted from Bagalkot Navanagar district hospital on September 25 last, was found after a woman named Gayatri was arrested.
