Bantwal: Kidnap of industrialist – three held

Bantwal, Oct 15: Relating to the abduction of Anup, an industrialist involved with areca processing and manufacture of hollow blocks, town police here arrested three persons on Tuesday October 14.

Anup (26) was picked up by armed abductors from his home at Sarapady in the taluk on Sunday before releasing him at B C Road later in the day. It is said that the abduction was carried out to threaten him of dire consequences relating to some financial transactions entered into by him earlier.

The arrested persons are Chetan and Vivesh, both from Someshwar and Prajwal from Kuthar near Mangalore. The police also took into custody a car reportedly used for the abduction. It is learnt that the abductors developed cold feet after a complaint was filed in the town police station here relating to the incident and decamped after dropping off Anup near Brahmarakootlu tollgate.

The police said that the three were produced in the court, upon which they were remanded to judicial custody.

    These culprits should not be released or else they shall surely attack and harm anup once again. Now that the fact is know, cops should take serious action and keep a watch on them and as well as anup, so that he is not harmed for lodging a kidnap complaint.
