Buenos Aires, Oct 17 (IANS): Argentine club San Lorenzo is more concerned about the threat of Ebola than Real Madrid at Club World Cup to be hosted by Morocco Dec 10-20, said defender Gonzalo Prosperi.
"We have spoken more about Ebola than Real Madrid. My wife is seeing news every day about it and telling me not to go," Prosperi was quoted as saying by Xinhua Thursday.
Prosperi's statement comes after FIFA recently confirmed that the African nation will host the tournament, which will feature seven teams, despite concerns about the Ebola epidemic.
The 29-year-old also cast doubt over claims that Morocco is yet to be affected by the virus.
"We are scared. I think it's strange that there have been cases in neighbouring countries but not there. It would be more believable if they (authorities) said there had been one or two cases than none at all," he said.
