MUMBAI, Oct 20: Apparently as a fallout of the Bombay High Court's directive to transfer the police officers related to Khwaja Yunus' alleged custodial death, two police officers related to the case have been transferred out of Mumbai, along with eight other police personnel.
Senior police inspector Pradip Sharma, one of the officers of Mumbai Police, has been transferred to Amravati, while inspector Arun Borude has been shifted to Buldhana, Director General of Police PS Pasricha told reporters on Friday.
Yunus, a suspect in 2002 Ghatkopar blast, allegedly died in police custody while police claimed that he had fled while being taken to Ahmednagar.
The CID's draft chargesheet names Arun Borude as one of the officers responsible for his death.
Sharma is not directly named in the proposed chargesheet, but figures in the probe into the matter, CID's lawyer RB Mokashi said.
