The Hague, Oct 19 (IANS): PSV Eindhoven continue to lead the Dutch football league after a 3-0 win over AZ Alkmaar while main rivals Ajax Amsterdam were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Twente.
PSV took the lead in the 20th minute after Luciano Narsingh finished a pass by Jetro Willems Saturday night, reports Xinhua.
Former AZ midfielder Adam Maher scored the second and the third goal to put the result beyond any doubt.
In the second half, Narsingh hit the cross-bar, but PSV failed to add to their goal tally.
FC Twente, the only team still undefeated in the Eredivisie this season, were the better side in the first half against Ajax in Enschede and scored through Mexican forward Jesus Corona.
In the second half, Ajax had the upper hand and Lasse Schone hit the cross-bar from a free-kick and Davy Klaassen hit the post.
In the 71st minute Ajax finally found the back of the net through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. The Icelandic striker finished a pass by Ricardo Kishna.
PSV lead the Eredivisie with 21 points from nine matches, followed by Ajax with 17 points.
