by reciprocal arrangement with Star of Mysore

Mysore, Oct 28: In the wake of the arrest of two terrorists in city on Thursday, the City Police have formulated a rule making it mandatory for house owners to inform the Police before renting out their premises to new tenants.

Police Commissioner Praveen Sood, who disclosed this to Star of Mysore this morning, said that the rule will be implemented for the first time in Karnataka, from Nov. 1.

"It is just a precautionary mea-sure which would enable the Police to keep track of the antisocial elements and make the task of following-up crimes and criminals easier," he added.

The houseowners should furnish details about the new tenants to the nearest Police Station. The Police will verify the antecedents of the tenants.

It may be mentioned here that in its editorial yesterday Star of Mysore had suggested to the city Police to evolve such a system.

Regarding the two Pakistani terrorists arrested on Thursday, Sood said that they will be interrogated during the 14 days' custody granted by the Court and their brain-mapping will be done.

"Police teams have already left for Jammu and Kashmir, Kozhikode and Delhi to gather material evidence pertaining to the terrorists and their activities," Sood said and added, "There are several more persons acquain-ted with them, who have helped them directly or indirectly in many ways, either out of ignorance or being fully aware of their nefarious activities."

Tight security

The two terrorists placed in Police custody at Vijayanagar Police Station here, are being interrogated by Inspector G.N. Mohan and team today. As such, all roads leading to the Station were blocked upto a distance of about 200 metres by barricades and policemen were seen literally swarming all over the place, not allowing anybody near the Station. More than 300 cops and four KSRP vans were stationed around the Police Station.

High level meeting

The Director General Police B.S. Sial has called a meeting of top officials today at 4 pm in Bangalore to discuss measures to beef up security in the wake of the terrorist activities in the State including Mysore.
