Sydney, Oct 31: Team India coach Greg Chappell is on his way out after next year's World Cup in West Indies.
According to a report in the Courier Mail, Chappell, who is facing a lot of criticism following India's disappointing exit from the ongoing Champions Trophy, has 'agreed' with the BCCI to leave the team after his contract expires next year.
"Greg Chappell's turbulent marriage with Indian cricket is set to end in divorce after next year's World Cup,'' the report says.
"Although both parties will deny it, it is believed Chappell and the powerful Board of Control in India have agreed to part ways after the World Cup next April,'' it goes on to add.
The report says India's loss to Australia in the must-win last group A tie on Sunday has left 'little doubt' that Chappell's contract will not be extended after the World Cup.
"The knives are again being sharpened for India's coach after his side was pushed over the edge in the Champions Trophy in a poor six-wicket capitulation to Australia.'' ''...and there seems little doubt that Chappell, the 58-year-old former Australian captain, is on the way out,'' the report elaborates.
