Mumbai, Nov 3: There is bad news for India at the ICC awards, which were given out on Friday in Mumbai.

None of the Indians short-listed for the awards actually won.

The 'Player of the Year' award went to, perhaps predictably, Ricky Ponting and the 'Captain of the Year' award was bagged by Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene.

Ponting picked up two of the three big awards. The Aussie captain won the 'Player of the Year' and the 'Test Player of the Year' award.

Hussey's feat

His team-mate Michael Hussey won the 'One-Day Player of the Year'. India's Yuvraj Singh missed out in this category.

Rahul Dravid also failed to win as the captain of the year, which went to Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene.

The 'Emerging Player of the Year' award went to Ian Bell of England. Mohd Asif was also nominated in this category.

Australia's Simon Taufel won the 'Umpire of the Year award'. The Aussie bagged the award for the third year in a row. While the 'Spirit of Cricket' award went to England.

Hussey, who was adjudged ODI Player of the Year, had scored close to 800 runs in 25 matches in the voting period.

He, in fact, has an amazing average of 64.08 with six half centuries in that one year.

Hussey, who has helped Australia win matches batting lower down the order, said he likes the role he is playing for the world champion side.

In other categories, India's Anjum Chopra missed out of the 'Women's Player of the Year' award, which was won by Australia's Karen Rolton.
