Mangalore, Nov 4: "Kannada will never grow just by opposing English. On the other hand this may even hamper the growth of Kannada," said Dr Ranganath.
He was speaking after inaugurating 'Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava' celebrations at Vyasa Maharshee Vidyapeetha English Medium School at Mulki near here recently.
He further added that any language will grow by introducing its literature, tradition and works of noted writers to children in the schools. "If we harp only on language without bothering about introducing and preserving its culture, we do no good to anyone," he added.
