Mumbai: Ankita Rai excels at Indian Ocean Karate Championship in Mauritius

Mumbai, Nov 8: Ankita Rai made the country proud by registering fine performances at the Indian Ocean Karate Championship – 2014 held at Mauritius recently.

She is daughter of Adoorguttu Balakrishna Rai from Mangaluru in Dakshina Kannada district and Pejavar Hoigemar Padmini Rai.

Ankita came first in Masters Kata section, second in individual Kata section, and third in the Team Kumite section of the championship.

Ankita Rai happens to be the niece of Payyar Ramesh Shetty, president of Karnataka Sangha Goregaon here.
