UP cop caught on camera showering money on dancer; suspended


Lucknow, Nov 12 (TOI) : A policeman, who was purportedly caught on camera showering currency notes on a dancer and brandishing firearm in an inebriated state in Shahjahanpur district, has been suspended, a senior officer said here today.

"Policeman Shailendra Shukla has been placed under suspension and as he was displaying firearm a directive has been issued to take action under Arms Act against him," Superintendent of Police R C Sahu said.

Shukla was caught on camera allegedly showering notes on a female dancer during a dance party at Nigohi on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, police said.

The policeman, who was allegedly in an inebriated state, also brandished his gun, police said.

The SP said that an inquiry, to be conducted by Circle Officer Sadar, has been ordered.

    A drunken police man showering his money in the public to a dancer it shows how honest these people to this society and to their duty.Police dept and corruption it goes side by side no doubt at all,sometime we say money matters the most in most cases but not the justice!!! .

    One sees Police men (not all)how they spend their time and Money in their free time.A bad example for the Nation.His suspention is reasonable and can go now every day without fear of duty.But now without firearm.But what does it mean kept under suspention?is it not yet suspended?such Policemen we dont Need.
