Dubai : Stage set for LFM Gulf Konkani Music awards

Dubai Nov 13: The stage is set for the Little Flowers Mukamar, Gulf Konkani Music Awards. A glamorous celebration is scheduled to take place tomorrow, November 14, 2014 at India Club at 11.00 a.m and will continue till 4 p.m., which is a special event in the Dubai Konkani music history.

As announced earlier in media, three final nominees have been nominated for the finale. The nomination categories include best lyricist, best singers (male and female), best album. The best of music albums which were released in the last one decade are nominated for the awards.

Among the three final nominees, one will be declared as a winner and two will be presented with the runners-up title. The winner of the best album contest will be receiving a memento and the ‘Little Flowers Desert Konkani Music Award’. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000. The winners under the best lyricist, best female singer and best male singer categories will each get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and memento.

The winner of the coveted title will be announced during the glamorous function.

Many music enthusiasts and artistes along with various dignitaries from the Emirates and also from other GCC countries are expected to attend the event to add color to the show.

Walter D’Almeida, Managing Director of Regal Furnishing and Storage systems and Michael D’souza, will be the chief guests.

Walter Nandalike, founder and editor-in-chief of Daijiworld.com will also grace the occasion as a special guest.

Apart from the mainstream music awards, a full-member live music concert, thrilling fusion dance performances and lots of spot prizes are in store t o enthrall the crowd.

The event is going to be a novel experience for the Konkani music fans in Dubai. Renowned musicians and singers from the Dubai Konkani music industry will perform at the event. The special attraction of the event will be nonstop back to back Manddo Songs (Konkani Traditional Songs).

Few famous singers from UAE namely, Vincent Fernandes, Lancy Noronha Bellore, Preema D’Souza, Maria, Godwin D’Souza and Harish Sherigar will entertain and young and prominent music album producer and singer Jakson D’souza will make his debut in Dubai Konkani zone. Music will be provided by Arun Carlo and team.

A Bollywood-style dance performance will be rendered by ‘Feat beat ’, a professional dance troupe headed by choreographer Arun Lobo.

The songs selected for the event are from the golden numbers of yesteryears and evergreen best songs from Gulf based producer’s albums. It’s a total mixture and balanced combination of all time hits and new popular songs.

The programme will be hosted by Dubai's well-known, charming and dynamic pair of comperes Dony Correa and his wife Asha Correa


Speaking to daijiworld, president of LFM Stephen Nazareth Said, that “Konkani music today is going through a unique phase and we had witnessed a great harvest in last one decade. The main aim of holding this event is to encourage all musicians to utilize their God gift talents, spare time and energy to create new innovations and promotion
of Konkani music.”

He also thanked the generous sponsors, benefactors and well-wishers in advance for their wholehearted support and added“LFM will always be grateful to them.”

The entry tickets for the event have been sold out. Hence the entry tickets are not available at the reception desk.
