Mangalore, Nov 8: Matilda Bernad D’Souza Memorial Trust organized Scholarship award function recently at the residence of Wilson B.D’Souza, Gurkar of Pompei ward of Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar. The award function began with the Eucharistic Celebration. Parish priest Fr Lawrence D'Souza celebrated the Holy Eucharist.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Lawrence. D’Souza said this award will drive the talented students to put in their best to achieve greater heights in education. The scholarship consists of a cash prize, shield and Certificate of Merit.
Assistant parish priest Fr Edwin Francis Pinto, Fr Alexander Noronha, Richard Alvares, vice- president of parish council, Victor Vas, secretary of Cordel Church were present on the occasion. Function was followed by cultural pogramme and fraternal agape. The Pompei ward day was also celebrated on the same day.
