Bhatkal, Nov 15: Rashid Moidin Beary, who had escaped from the police custody on September 22, has been re arrested on November 14 night.
Rashid was arrested at Bhatkal railway station. It is said that he was coming from Goa by Mangala train and was proceeding to Shiroor, his home town.
Rashid Moidin Beary and Azharuddin two undertrials were lodged in Dharwad jail for different cases of robbery. On September 22, when they were being taken to Kundapur for a court hearing, they had managed to give a slip to the police in Bhatkal.
The police had only managed to re arrest Azharuddin within a day.
Rashid, who hails from Shiroor, also has a house in Bhatkal. He was arrested in 2008 and had escaped from police custody in 2009 only to be arrested later.
Rashid is said to be involved in robbery and dacoity cases in Bhatkal, Udupi and Mangalore.
Bhatkal circle inspector Prashanth Naik led the operation.
