Kasargod, Nov 18: Three youths from Kasargod, who had gone to Singapore on a tourists’ visa landed in Singapore prison.
They have been identified as C S Shihabuddin(29) from Choori Battampareya, A S Hashim(35) from R D Nagar, and M Mohammed Nawaz (34)from Mogral Puttur.
They had gone to Singapore on June 1, 2014. They were taken with a promise to be employed in the business of a businessman hailing from Kasargod. When their luggage was checked at Singapore's Changi airport immigration, fake credit cards were found in it. The credit cards were found in the bag given by the person who had arranged for their visa. They were asked to hand over the bag to a person waiting outside the airport.
However, the three men were arrested for a crime that they did not commit. There was no information about them even after four months when the house people started to make inquiries and came to know that they were in Singapore prison.
It is said that the person who arranged for their visa is absconding to gulf. Their families have requested the government to try and get them released.
They have decided to submit petitions to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Union minister Sushma Swaraj, other ministers at the centre to initiate their release.
