Shuttler Pawar reaches Scottish Open pre-quarters


Glasgow, Nov 20 (IANS): Indian shuttler Anand Pawar entered the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 Scottish Open Grand Prix here Thursday.

The seventh seed defeated unseeded Danish Kim Bruun 21-7, 21-15 in 33 minutes at the Emirates Arena, the same arena where the Commonwealth Games were held.

He will next take on Dutch Erik Meijs for a place in the last eight.

Pawar’s compatriot Saili Rane will play her women’s singles second round later in the day.
