Pune, Nov 20 (IANS): Seasoned Nitten Kirrtane has been top seeded for the All-India Ranking Men's Tennis Tournament to be held at the Solaris Club here Nov 24-28.
The tournament, offering prize money of Rs.1 lakh, will be contested in men's singles and doubles categories, said tournament director Ravindra Pandey.
Besides Kirrtane, other top players who have entered are Shaikh Abdullah, Vijay Kannan, Jajbir Singh Saran and Arpit Sharma.
Players from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bengal, Karnataka and Odisha have sent in their entries. The organisers expect a field of about 150-180, including the qualifying draw which will begin Nov 22.
Last time around P.C. Vignesh had won the title while Kirrtne was runners-up.
The winner will get Rs.13,000 and 15 AITA ranking points while the runners-up will settle for Rs.9,000 and 10 AITA points.
