Dhaka, Nov 24 (IANS): Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 68 runs in the second one day international (ODI) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong Sunday, to go 2-0 up in the five-match cricket series.
Batting first, Bangladesh set Zimbabwe a target of 251 runs in their allocated 50 overs, losing 7 wickets. However, the Zimbabweans were bowled out for 183 runs in 44.5 overs, Xinhua reported.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and decided to bat first and Bangladesh set a fighting target, propelled by Anamul Haque (80 runs) and Tamim Iqbal (76 runs).
T Panyangara and T Kamungozi took two wickets each for Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwe innings was pegged back by the Bangladesh bowling attack, with Arafat Sunny grabbing four wickets and Mashrafe Mortaza claiming three.
SF Mire was the highest scorer for Zimbabwe with 50 runs, while E Chigumbura contributed 38 runs.
Bangladesh had defeated Zimbabwe by 87 runs in the first ODI Friday.
The hosts had earlier completed a 3-0 Test whitewash over the visitors.
