Johannesburg, Nov 17: Flamboyant opener Virender Sehwag, who suffered a finger injury, hasn't been ruled out of the first cricket one-dayer against South Africa here on Sunday.

Sehwag missed the one-day warm-up game in Benoni yesterday after suffering a gash in the right ring finger prior to the toss and needed four stitches to close the gaping wound.

The injury happened when Sehwag went for a high catch during practice before the start of the match.

According to media manager Rajan Nair, Sehwag is being watched on a regular basis and he stayed put at the ground watching his team suffer a 37-run loss.
