Mangalore, Nov 20: A week-long programme on inter-religious discourse and dialogue, 'Foundations of Dharma' was inaugurated on Sunday, Nov 19, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here.

Sri Paramananda Bharati Swamiji will be the main speaker throughout the week.

The event was organized by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, in collaboration with Dharma Samanvaya, Mangalore and Chair in Christianity, Mangalore University.

Vedic Philosophy of Dharma will not be the sole aspect that will be discussed. Opinions and thoughts from the representatives of other faiths will also be included in order to attain better understanding of different religions and an effective inter-religious dialogue.

President, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mangalore, Prof B M Hegde presided over the function. Former Principal, St Aloysius Evening College, Mangalore, Prof Leena Fernandes and President, Chair in Christianity, Mangalore, Fr John Fernandes were also present on the occasion.
