Mangalore, Nov 20: 'Prastuta' an exhibition of paintings was inaugurated at Prasad Art Gallery here on Monday November 20.
Chandrasheker Shetty, president Sanathana Natyalaya inaugurated the exhibition. Mahalasa Art School lecturer N S Pathar and noted artiste Gopadkar were the chief guests.
The exhibition focussed on creating awareness among people on the need to maintain peace and harmony in the present times. Fifty per cent of the proceeds from the exhibition will go to victims of the communal riots that hit the district last month.
About 30 paintings by artists A K Zuber Kudla, Ramakrishna Nayak V, Tharanath Kairangal, Santhosh D Andrade and Harshitha K are on display.
The exhibition will go on till Wednesday November 22 and will be open for public from 9 am to 7 pm.
The paintings will also be on display at Alva's Nudisiri 2006 at Moodbidri from Friday November 11 to Sunday November 26.
