Bangalore, Nov 21: Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore has been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Bellary with effect from November 18, 2006

The Episcopal See of Bellary fell vacant following the death of Bishop Joseph D'Silva in Bangalore on November 17.
