Udupi, Nov 21: This could be called as perfect paradox. While some are busy conducting meetings, forming protest committees, organizing agitations etc against the setting up of coal-based Nagarjuna power project at Nandikur near here, construction work is going on as scheduled.
As reported earlier, the construction and survey work had begun on November 17 despite protest from MP, MLA and locals. Kaup bundh too was held on the following day. But none of these prevented the administration from stalling the work. Within three days, the company has constructed almost 3, kilometers-long road, a shed for the labourers to take rest etc.
Stones and sand has been stored on the construction site to build wall at the entrance to the construction site. More than 280 labourers with the help of 4 JCBs are busy carrying out the work. Police force has been deployed to meet any unwanted situation.
