Udupi, Nov 22: The off-season rains, coupled with thunder and lightning has resulted in damage to two houses at Kaup near here on Monday November 20 night. Three persons too have been injured owing to lightning strike.
Lightning struck B K Manzil at Padu near Kaup on Monday night. As a result Bifatumma (55), Ismail (22) and Salim (23) who were in the house sustained injuries. They have been admitted to hospital here. The walls of B K Manzil have developed cracks owing to lightning strike.
Meanwhile lightning also struck the house of one Hema Kunder which is in close proximity to B K Manzil. As a result of lightning strike, television set has been damaged. Even the house wiring was found gutted.
Village accountant Narayana Kulal visited both the houses on Tuesday November 21 and took stock of the damage.
