Mangalore, Nov 22: The thieves who broke open into a jewellery shop situated just in front of Pandeshwar police station have decamped with gold ornaments on Tuesday November 21 night.

"City Jewellers" owned by Ramesh Kamath is situated just in front of Pandeshwar police station here.  However, the thieves have gained entry into the shop by breaking open the shutter.  Though the entire shop has not been ransacked, the thieves have stolen several gold ornaments from a showcase.

The total worth of the stolen ornaments is estimated at Rs 30,000.  Jewellery owner Ramesh Kamath has filed a case with the Pandeshwar police in this regard. 

Finger print experts have already arrived at the spot and have begun investigation.  Even the sniffer dogs have been summoned to assist in nabbing the thieves.
