Mangalore, Nov 23: The ugly face of counterfeit currency has once again shone up in one of the premier banks of the city.  The officials of ICICI bank have detected 40 counterfeit currency notes in the business transaction between September to November.

ICICI currecny checker S A Palaniyappan has lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday November 21 that during the period between JSeptember 29 to November 9, 16 counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 face value, 23 notes of Rs 100 face value and one currecny note of Rs 50 face value were found.

The currecny notes were deposited in the P M Rao branch of ICICI bank.  However, the identity of the person who has deposited the money has not been established.
