Mangalore, Nov 22: Imam of Badriya Juma Masjid Mohammadali Faizi told that the person named Abdulla who died recently is being unnecessarily glorified at Balepuni near Ira of Bantwal taluk and all preparations are being held to hold a urus in his memory.

Speaking at a press conference held at Press Club here on Thursday November 23 morning, he said that none of the premier Muslim religious body or institutes have recognized Abdulla as saint.

Some people are portraying him as Aulia (saint) and they are performing rituals and religious programmes without informing the heads of the community.  "They have even decided to call a priest from Calicut to perform the rituals who does not know the truth," he said.

Hence Badriya Juma Masjid Jamath committee has informed fake ritual which Islam does not permit since no scholars have declared him as a saint.

Jamath president M B Abubakar Sakhafi, general secretary B H Ibrahim, vice- president Moosa Akkeray, treasurer T Ibharim, committee member Abbas Dhodda Mani were present at the press meet.
