Puttur, Nov 24: A young man who was in the company of his lover in an ice cream parlour was assaulted by a group of people here on Thursday November 23. A complaint has been filed with the police in this regard.
The assaulted has been identified as Mahesh, a resident of Patte near here. He owns Madan Electricals at Mudpinadka near Badagannur. He was in an ice cream parlour along with his lover Poornima when the latter's relatives led by Amrit Achar said to have assaulted Mahesh.
In his complaint Mahesh has stated that he was in love with Poornima for sometime now and it was at her behest that he had come to the town to meet her. "But her relative Amrit and others assaulted me and snatched my cellphone along with Rs 9,000 in cash," he stated.
The police are investigating the case.
