Mangalore, Nov 24: A national-level CME / workshop on 'Paediatritic Anaesthesia, Pain and Medical Update -2006' has been organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology, KMC in association with University of Minnesota, USA from November 27 to 29 at Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre, MG Road.

Dean of Kasturba Medical College Dr C V Raghuveer speaking to the press told that the workshop has been organised as a part institution’s commitment to promoting research as one of the aims of modern anaesthesiology practice.

The workshop consists of the interaction with the foreign faculties on selected key topics and will be of immense benefit to practising anaesthesiologists and postgraduate students of anaesthesiology to acquire the required skills in their practice in critical care, pain and palliative medicine.

Expert faculty from University of Minnesota, USA will deliver guest lectures focusing on various aspects of the subject.

Pro- chancellor of MAHE, Dr, H S Ballal will preside over the inaugural function on Tuesdasy November 28 at 6.30pm. National president of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) Dr N Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest. Chairman and managing director of corporation bank Mr B Sambamurthy and editor of Indian journal of anaesthesiology and registrar of KAHE, Belgaum and Dr PF Kotur will be the guest of honour.

Prof and head department of Anaesthesia KMC Hospital, Attavar, Mangalore and Prof and unit chief, department of anaesthesia, Govt Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore Dr N R Bhat were also present in the press meet.
