Sullia, Nov 24: Residents of Harihara, Kollamogra, Kalmakar, Balugodu and surrounding areas took to streets demanding the repairs of Madugallu-Kalmakaru Road on Thursday November 23.

Hundreds of people blocked the road, shouted slogans against the administration while displaying placards and banners.  The protest was held at Nadugallu on Subrahmanya-Jalsoor Road.  The protest was withdrawn after the elected representatives assured that the road will be repaired soon.

Sullia taluk magistrate Sundar Bhat visited the place and received appeal from the agitators.  TP president N S Suvarnini, member P C Jayaram too arrived at the spot and assured that they would release Rs 3 lac approved under 12 Financial Plan.

Local advocate Venkappa Gowda, Chandrashekhar Melnad addressed the protesters. Protest committee office-bearers Sadashivayya Panne, A P Vasant, Durgadas Mallar, K V Sudhir, Hameed Idnur and others were present at the protest.
