Daijiworld News Network – Mangalore (VM)

Mangalore, Nov 26: The Dakshina Kannada District Special Olympics 2006 and the Karnataka State Bocce Championship 2006, organised by the St Agnes Special School in association with Special Olympics Bharath- Karnataka, will be held at the St Aloysius Centenary Grounds here on November 28.

This was informed by Vasanth Kumar Shetty, area director of Special Olympics in a press conference recently.

Special children from various schools for special children in DK district will participate in the event. Children will be selected for the three-day state level Special Olympics meet to be held at Suttur in February 07.

Around 400 students from eight schools in DK are expected to participate in the event which will be inaugurated by district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty and presided over by Special Olympics vice-chairman Vishwanath Iyer.

Donnet D’Souza, coordinator, Karavali Zone, Special Olympics was also present at the press meet.
