Mangalore, Nov 27: A seminar on philately was organised by India Post at St Aloysius College here on Sunday November 26. It was the first time that the postal department was conducting a seminar in the city.

Mahalingeshwara Athani, senior philatelist who spoke on the topic 'Karnataka in Philately' lauded the efforts of the postal department in conserving the state's cultural heritage by depicting historical sites on the stamps. He termed the city as the hub of philately collection in the state.

R G Sangoram presented a paper on 'Thematic Collection' while Daniel Monteiro spoke on 'Water Fowls.'

Senior superintendent of Post Offices N R Vishalachy and district Philately and Numismatic Association president N K Krishnaiah were present.
