London, Nov 28: Well-known NRI journalist Mihir Bose has been appointed the first ever sports editor of BBC to provide analysis and context to major sports news stories.
"A much-respected sports columnist for The Daily Telegraph, Mihir will provide analysis and context to the major sports news stories across the BBC’s news programming," BBC said in an official release on Monday.
Mihir Bose was born in India before moving to England to pursue higher studies. He started his journalistic career at the London Broadcasting Corporation, before joining The Sunday Times.
Having concentrated on business journalism in his early years, he subsequently specialised in investigative sports reporting and moved to The Daily Telegraph in 1995, where he started the paper’s Inside Sports Column.
He has won a number of awards, including Business Columnist of the Year, Sports Story of the Year and Sports News Reporter of the Year.
