Mangalore, Nov 28: A twenty-year-old person met watery grave while having bath in Nandini at Chelar dam area near Haleangadi here on Sunday November 26 evening.

The deceased has been identified as Umar Farook (20), a resident of Mukka near Suratkal.   He had gone to one of his aunts' house at Indiranagar near Haleangadi.  In the evening, he had gone to Nandini river for having bath.

However, he did not know to swim.  So when he slipped and fell in the deep waters, he could not reach river bank.  He was a mobile technician by profession and was to fly abroad for job in a couple of days' time.  The Mulki police have registered a case in this regard.
