Modi wishes Goa on Liberation Day


New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday wished Goa on its Liberation Day and also remembered those who sacrificed their lives to free the state from Portuguese rule.

"On Goa Liberation Day I convey my best wishes to people of Goa. We remember all those who dedicated their lives to the movement to free Goa," he said in a statement.

Goa was liberated from over 450-years of Portuguese rule on Dec. 19, 1961.
