Islamabad, Dec 25 (IANS): A special court Wednesday remanded leader of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Malik Ishaq in judicial custody for two weeks in a murder case.

Ishaq was presented before Special Magistrate Ghulam Mujtaba Baloch in a murder and terrorism case lodged with police in Rahim Yar Khan city of Punjab province, Dawn online reported.

The FIR No.245/14 was lodged Oct 14, 2014, on the complaint of Husain Abbas, son of Allah Ditta, who was killed in a sectarian attack.

The case was lodged under Pakistan Protection Act, 2014.

The court rejected police remand, observing that such a remand of a suspect who was booked on charges of abatement, could not be granted.

The court has ordered 14-day judicial remand for the suspect and fixed Jan 7 as the next date of hearing.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court Wednesday released two suspected facilitators of two terrorists who were killed in an encounter with law enforcement agencies Feb 2014.

Judge Sajjad Ahmed ordered release of Maulana Zafar Iqbal and Qari Saeed due to lack of evidence against them.

Two suspected suicide bombers Sajid and Abid Ghora were killed by intelligence agency, police and Elite Force personnel in an encounter at Chub Kalan in Khanewal district Feb 7 this year.

Major Danish, an intelligence officer, who received critical injuries in the encounter, di8ed later in a Lahore hospital.
