Doha, Dec 8: Ace shooter Jaspal Rana clinched the individual gold in men's 25m centre fire pistol competition while also leading the country to team gold at the Asian Games in Doha on Friday.
Earlier, Rana equalled the world record in the 25m centre fire pistol qualification event by aggregating 590 points.
Rana's effort saw the team, also comprising of Samresh Jung and Vijay Kumar take the first place in the event. Korea won the silver while China claimed the bronze.
The Delhi marksman, who had claimed the gold medal in the men's 25m standard pistol event at the Lusail range yesterday, equalled the marks set by seven other shooters in the world. Starting with the precision round, the 30-year-old Delhi shooter fired three rounds of 98 each to total 294 points.
In the rapid fire segment, he came up with 100, 98 and 98 to aggregate 296.
