Mangalore, Dec 15: National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) will host the 14th international conference on ‘Advanced Computing and Communications 2006’ or ADCOM 2006 from Wednesday December 20 to Saturday December 23.

A press release stated that the event will be organized under the aegis of Advanced Computing and Communications Society, Bangalore.

The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Silver Jubilee auditorium at the college campus on December 20 at 6.30 pm. Prof N R Shetty, Prof Balaveera Reddy, Prof K K Agarwal and NITK director Prof Sandeep Sancheti will be present.

The release stated that the aim of the conference would be to bring together researchers and practitioners from all over the world who have an expertise in the field of computing and information technology. The conference will be based on the theme of ‘Autonomic Computing.’

The programme schedule over the four days will include workshops, lectures, felicitation of distinguished professors in the field of computing and communication, symposium and 14 paper presentations.

Over 200 people including researchers and scientists from across India, USA, Europe, China, Taiwan and other countries are expected to participate in the event.

The valedictory will be held on December 23 in which Prof S S Murthy will participate, the release stated.
