It was exactly 45 years ago on December 19, 1961 that Goa was liberated by the Indian army from the control of the Portuguese colonial rule. that Goa got its freedom from the Portuguese rule on 19th December 1961.

To mark this special day a grand Liberation Day celebration function was organized on the parade ground at Panaji.

Along with the Police force, hundreds of school children participated in the event by presenting parade, march past, drill etc.
