Rape case against Raghaveshwara Bharathi,Rishi Pal quizzed

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 13: In connection with the rape case filed against Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Hosanagar Ramachandrapur Math by Premalata Shastri, Rishi Pal, national general secretary of Seva Bharati, an arm of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, was questioned by the personnel of criminal investigation department (CID) on Monday January 12. CID sources claimed that the statements recorded by Rishi Pal are likely to substantiate claims made by Premalata in her complaint.

Rishi Pal, who came to the city from New Delhi for this specific purpose, answered questions posed to him for over three hours, before flying back to New Delhi by 8 pm flight. He had been summoned by the CID as Premalata had given his name as a witness to her engagements in certain centres in North India.

Premalata had claimed that she was raped by Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji at Haridwar and Jodhpur too. The entourage of the Math had travelled there through New Delhi, and Rishi Pal, besides being personally aware about this travel, also knew several things about the Swamiji, it is said. When a CID team gathered information from Rishi Pal, another team worked to find out the location of the cell phones on the basis of information provided by Premalata in her presence, and matching them with the use of scientific instruments. The conversations between Premalata with the Swamiji, and the towers used by their respective cell phones were also matched, it is reported.

The CID personnel also visited the house of an Ayurveda practitioner from the city, who is said to be close to Math, and verified the details of conversations he had with the Swamiji. CID sources added that Premalata fully cooperated with the investigation.

    @ Vishwanath,

The Seer has fully cooperated the enquiry process & the required Medical Tests, & all this have been reported in Media. He has appeared over 50 hours on record & over 200 hours for investigation before IA. Court had ordered for DNA Test, which he has fulfilled with providing Blood samplings.

Even after the statements by AG to Hon.HC that investigation is complete & the Chargesheet would be filed within fortnight, till today its not filed !!!! Why ? It's over 3 months now after their assurance. No need to compare him with others, as it now looks like that our IA itself is in hung position in their stand.

How come you say its proven ? If it was true, why they are still hesitating to file Chargesheet despite their own repeated statements ? Also, the Medical Report is not filed fully till today ! Why ??..

If you have any concrete evidence to prove your stand, why can't you provide it to our IA ? No need to assess the stand directly, as the Hon.HC can clearly give its Judgement only after filing any of the Report, ie, either of B Report or Chargesheet before it, & after its cross examination with the both the parties. Of course, Justice delayed is Justice denied. But, holding down the Enquiry process months long will only derail the confidence of public with our IA & the ruling State Government. Everyone knows the truth well now, that this drag on process is aimed to stall his social service work, his growth & progress, tarnish his reputation & so on...

Naturally, when they are unable to prove their claims, all this drama will go on......

The thick-skinned Swami is probably having his last laugh having permanently split the community, what is indeed tragic is that the intrigues of the controversial saga continues... including appointing a successor. As long as the inner circle of the most-crooked and affluent, wields enormous influence, the acute politics, shameful cronyism and corruption in every issue and decision within the Math with continue.

The young seer whose shocking attitude, silly excuses & non-cooperation with investigations (was actually proof enough of who is indeed guilty or innocent) is probably hoping against hope that someone will come to his rescue. Not completely surprising, since in our great democracy all the Asaram’s, Swami Nityananda’s, Swami Premananda’s & a 100 other wolfs who consider themselves above the law, are still enjoying freedom & bliss!

The open-and-shut, multiple-rape case against the Ramakathaa Swami was long back conclusively proven, despite all sorts of impediments and no-cooperation by the seer & his high profile, brute supporters, with circumstantial, legal, forensic, documentary and key material evidence, including the most-advanced DNA evidence. (actually not mandatory under the rape provisions of IPC).

Regretfully, because of political connections apart from a well-oiled, massive financial machinery backed by everyone from real-estate barons to corrupt politicians of all shades to underworld dons, the case has been bogged down with ridiculous reasons and repeated attempts made to scuttle it, by powerful supporters & various stake-holders in the case.

It is no surprise that the key benchmark case, that is now intentionally being dragged on and on, has been a big windfall and discrete gold-mine to certain people, especially considering the incriminating evidences around and the most obvious, pending sentence under section 375 of IPC. From successive judges joining the division bench for a short period and then conveniently recusing for the most amusing reasons, to the incomprehensible adjournments for inexcusably long gaps to the questionable tactics & actions of the investigative authorities, the fangs of corruption and injustice at the all levels has arguably been most obvious, right from start!

    Key question:
How long can various parties delay the judgment & final sentencing of a most obvious and conclusively proven statutory rape?
