Mumbai, Dec 22:  “I am tired of shouting over the rooftops that my film Om Shanti Om is not a remake of Karz”, said Farah Khan. After the success of her directorial debut Main Hoon Na, she is all set to begin her next film Om Shanti Om.

The film starring Farah’s good friend Shah Rukh Khan in the lead is all set to go on floors on January 7. “Shah Rukh essays the title role of Om in the film.”

“The movie will have the film industry in the background but it is definitely not a remake of the Rishi Kapoor starrer.”

On questioning her on the idea of remakes that are happening a lot these days she was quick to reply, “Unless and until I am exhausted mentally and intellectually I will not remake a film. I have stories to tell and I want to do just that.”

“Unless and until I am exhausted mentally and intellectually I will not remake a film.”

However one common factor between Karz and Om Shanti Om is that both the films will have music director Pyarelal. While Karz was composed by the duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Om Shanti Om will have Pyarelal doing the guest composition.

While Farah explained that the first half of her film is set in the 1970’s so they have decided to recreate that era through a song. If word is to be believed then the song will possibly be sung by Sadhana Sargam and Abhijeet.
