Udupi, Jan 17: The St Francis Xavier parishioners of Udyavar will be organizing their annual event with 'Raddet Eredde' a Tulu drama, on Sunday, January 18 at Udyavar Church campus to raise funds for the construction of a new church building.
The church has a building development committee, which functions under the leadership of Melwin Noronha. It has also formed a drama steering committee comprising of 16 members, for smooth administration.
The committee works under the directorship of Fr Roque D’souza.

About St Francis Xavier Church
The church dates back 150 years. The Christian families of Udyavar built a modest church near Chembukkall rock in 1873 and dedicated it in honor of St Francis Xavier.
The complete church building was inaugurated on January 10, 1866.
The geologists, architects and civil engineers had no blue prints to help the competent masters in their task. The church was finally blessed and opened in 1909 by the bishop of Mangaluru of that time.
The church has now decided to build a well designed new church. Expenditure will run into crores of rupees. Besides the church committee, other organizations like the local dynamic ICYM group, catholic sabha and stri sangatan are also supporting the project in a big way economically.
Kishore D Shetty is the director of the super hit drama ‘Raddet Eredde’ which will be showcased for the first time in Udyavar. The team completes seven years of performance in Udyavar Church campus.
The star casts of the drama are Vasanth V. Amin, Aravind Bolar, Sundar Rai Mandara, Suresh Manjeshwar, N K Nayanadu, Ravi Suratkal, Girish Shetty Inchlangod, Chandrahas Mani, Talasidas Manjeshwar, Keshavdas Padil, Padmanabh Manjeshwar, Sharath Padil, Shobha shetty Shaktinagar, Aneesh Kudla, Pavithra Hegde Puttur.
Sound & Lighting is by lead sound technicians (Rukku, Kishore), make-up by Rajesh Manjeshwar, theatre set-up by Lakumi Arts (Naveen Praveen).
