Kundapur, Jan 21: The Tahsildar of Kundapur held a meeting in his office on Tuesday, January 20 morning for two groups with regard to the riots that occurred in Kodi and old estuary area a week ago.

The leaders put forth demands including CCTV cameras in select places in Kodi, mandatory opening of police stations in the suburbs, construction of humps on main roads in Kodi, deployment of police on daily basis and creation of check post.

Tahsildar Gayatri Nayak requested that problems of trash in Kodi and old estuary have become acute and the residents should dispose the trash in and around their houses on their own. “Trash should not be thrown on the seashore. Nobody should gather in groups after 9 pm. Because of this everybody has to bear the problems for the mistakes of a few.”

“Permission should be obtained for displaying banners. The banner should be removed after the day of permission,” she said.

“Care should be taken to prevent untoward incidents. The two leaders and citizens must cooperate with the department in this respect. Everybody must live in peace and harmony”, she added.

Kundapur police circle inspector Diwaker P M, Kundapur police inspector Nasir Hussain, zilla panchayat member Ganapathi T Sriyan, taluk panchayat member Manju Billava, Koteshwara grama panchayat president Rajashekar Shetty, Janaki Billava, Nagaraj, local Muslim leaders Abdul Kodi, K M Hussain, Abdul Rauf, Mohammed Ali, Mohammed K H Ibrahim, K H Hussain, G Abdulla, Mohammed Gadi and others were present.
