Udupi: Man arrested in connection with thefts in houses

Udupi, Jan 23: Udupi police circle inspector Srikanth K, PSI Malpe Ravikumar and staff in a joint operation, arrested a suspect in connection with house break and stealing, here on Friday, January 23.

The suspect has been identified as Girish (22), son of Chandrashekar. He is a resident of Raghavendra Bhajana Mandira, Gujjarabettu, Thonse gram.

Police took his confession and recovered jewellery stolen in different places including a ‘Karimani’ chain, a gold chain, a bracelet, a laptop, a Samsung mobile phone and a Honda motor cycle used for thefts collectively worth Rs 2,60,000 from him.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Annamalai, police commissioner, Santhosh Kumar, additional police commissioner and the direction of K M Chandrashekar, assistant police commissioner, Udupi district.
