SAC organizes inter-collegiate Hindi fest 'Prerna'

Mangaluru, Jan 24: St Aloysius college organized 'Prerna' inter collegiate Hindi fest here at Eric Mathias Hall, St Aloysius college Mangaluru on Saturday January 24.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr Malathi Bhat said "Hindi is our national language. Students can make their career in the field of Hindi. We all have to learn Hindi and communicate in Hindi. It is ok to make mistakes but ultimately it will lead to perfection. Only communicating in Hindi is not enough but we have to learn to write and read Hindi. There is a wide scope in the field of Hindi. Students can get employed in Government jobs."

She also thanked the St Aloysius college management for giving the opportunity to be the chief guest of the event.

Dr Veronica Judith Carlo Vice principal of St Aloysius college speaking on the occasion said "We have a student here who is from United states. She wants to learn Hindi and we are teaching her, all though its a new experience. When she being from America has such interest then what amount of interest we should have being from India. Students have to take up Hindi as masters. There are many job opportunities in the field of Hindi.

Sweebert D'silva principal of St Aloysius college said "I am glad that Hindi department of St Aloysius college has organized Prerna. Currently more students are keen on taking up Hindi language this has resulted in increase of Hindi faculty in our college. We Mangaloreans are in a way lucky because we naturally tend to learn more languages like English, Kannada, Hindi, Tulu, Konkani, Urdu. Learning Hindi language is very important because if we visit north not much people can talk in English so it will help us to communicate in Hindi. As Indians, Hindi is very important language for us as it our national language."

Mehboob Ali Nadak, Hindi lecturer of St Aloysius college thanked the chief guest and all the dignitaries on the dais. He gave his best wishes to all the students who were present at the event.

Fr Francis Almeida SJ, Campus Minister St Aloysius college, Ronald Pinto, Dr Mukunda Prabhu, Dr Sujatha Rajaram faculty St Aloysius college and secretary Majid Hussein of St Aloysius college were the other dignitaries on the dais.
